Innovative Lighting Ideas and Avant-garde Technology by MEGAMAN^® Stages at light+building Frankfurt 2008

Lighting forms an integral part of building architecture and design. MEGAMAN^® is set to present the ultimate ideas and cutting edge technology in energy-saving lighting solutions at the light+building Frankfurt 2008, the fair which combines all the key sectors of integrated building designs.

Featured by complete functionality and sophistication in technical know-how, MEGAMAN^® will definitely surprise the visitors with its latest range of innovative products which offer ultimate lighting solutions to complete various building designs. What’s more, MEGAMAN^®, an environmental conscious pioneer in the industry, has implemented Liquid Mercury Free green manufacturing process in its lamp production. Full range MEGAMAN^® products use Amalgam instead of liquid mercury, aiming to minimize environmental impact at different stages of product life cycle. Visitors can experience how MEGAMAN^® makes a difference to their lives with its array of energy-saving products.

Highlight of this fair is MEGAMAN^® complete series of the dimmable energy saving lamp, the DIMMERABLE and DorS DIMMING, which enables designers and architects to create different lighting moods for home and buildings, "with" or "without" a dimming lighting system. Breaking through the limitation of dimming incapacity of traditional CFL, MEGAMAN^® DIMMERABLE offers smooth dimming of a brightness range from 10% to 100% via a normal dimmer switch. DorS DIMMING lamps, built-in with dimming function, presents step-dimming with brightness levels of 100%, 66%, 33% and 5% via an ordinary light switch.

Another centre of attraction is the world’s first compact fluorescent lamp with a G9 base, CFL G9. This miniscule energy saver offers a viable alternative to blazing hot halogen G9 bulbs as it offers a lengthier lamp life, generates less heat and consumes far less energy.

Other new products include the world’s first plug-in-tube with an integrated electronic ballast – PLi and the linear fluorescent tubes with an integrated ballast – Self-Ballasted Linear. The design concept of these all-in-one products is convenience and hassle-free matching of the lamp itself together with the ballast and lamp holder. Thanks to the extendable built-in socket of Self-Ballasted Linear lamps, multiple connections are viable. This unique plug-and-play feature makes it perfect for applications that require intense light output. An advanced version creating no dark zone further boosts the illumination performance.

The light+building Frankfurt 2008 will be held from 6 to 11 April 2008 in Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre, Germany.
