MEGAMAN^® State-of-the-Art Lighting Ideas are On Show at DesignEx 2008

MEGAMAN^® is set to present the ultimate ideas and cutting edge technology in energy saving lighting solutions at the DesignEx 2008. Featured by complete functionality and sophistication in technical know-how, MEGAMAN^® will definitely surprise the visitors with its latest range of innovative products which offer ultimate lighting solutions to complete various interior designs.

MEGAMAN^® Total Dimming Solution comprising of DIMMERABLE and DorS DIMMING will be on display. These lamps enable users to enjoy the benefits of dimmable fluorescent lighting without the need for special control gear or control wiring and can be used with a conventional light switch and with normal lamp holders. This means no change to the existing on/off fitting, thus saving on any extra retrofit costs. No additional control wiring or transformers are required for use.

Lamps in the dimmable range can change the ambience of a room at the flick of a switch, providing dimming of conventional incandescent replacement compact fluorescent lamps using a built-in electronic ballast and offering a high performance dimming capability. DIMMERABLE offers smooth, stepless dimming from 10% to 100%, whilst DorS DIMMING lamps provide step-dimming with brightness levels of 100%, 66%, 33% and 5%.

Also on show, MEGAMAN^® new CFL G9 is the first self-ballasted, plug-in lamp to be supplied in a G9 lamp base, allowing its direct use in a wide selection of luminaires that utilise a G9 lamp holder without any retrofitting. Designed as a direct replacement for a G9 40W halogen lamp, the CFL G9 is compact in size and combines excellent lumen performance with an increase of 80% on energy savings. The CFL G9 generates far less heat than a halogen lamp during operation and, when compared to other fluorescent lamps, bears the closest resemblance to a point light source, providing accurate beam control.

Another highlight of the exhibition is MEGAMAN^® PLi, the world's first integrated plug-in lamp with an integrated electronic ballast engineered into its base, which makes the matching of tube and ballast a thing of the past. PLi provides the perfect replacement for conventional plug-in lamps that require an external ballast to operate. MEGAMAN^® also proudly presents a halogen Ø111 replacement with the energy-saving CFL AR111. This lamp produces 45° narrow beam illumination for augmented effects.

With the environment in mind, MEGAMAN^® has implemented a 'Liquid Mercury Free' green manufacturing process in its lamp production, using Amalgam instead of liquid mercury to minimize environmental impact at different stages of the product life cycle.
