MEGAMAN^® CFL GU10
- An Eco-friendly Alternative to Halogen

(Hong Kong – 1 Apr 2009)  Accent lighting throws the focus onto specific spots by casting beams within a narrow angle. Such lighting is useful for illuminating and emphasizing certain items or areas within a room, making it especially suitable for shops, restaurants or any other environment where spotlight effects were required.

However, traditional halogen lamps give off a lot of heat, this not only raises the temperature indoors, but even damages the display items over time. Such heat emanated also means that they are energy-inefficient to use.

Transforming the compact fluorescent technology into reflector lamps in GU10 base, MEGAMAN^® has invented its own series of CFL GU10 with options of 7 Watt, 9 Watt and 11 Watt to replace halogens in 30 Watt, 40 Watt and 50 Watt respectively, further reinforcing its ability to consume less power while producing exceptional light output. Adopted the most advanced dimming technology from MEGAMAN^®, a dimmable version, which enables linear dimming from 10% to 100% brightness with a normal dimmer, has just been launched in the market.

Contrasting the MEGAMAN^® CFL GU10 against the halogens, MEGAMAN^® CFL GU10 produces minimal heat which definitely helps to save energy consumed by air-conditioning because the room temperature would no longer be significantly raised by the heat of lighting. This also reduces the chance of discolouration and deformation of furniture and display items by intense light.

The fitting of an optional snap-in aluminium reflector on the MEGAMAN^® CFL GU10 further increases the luminous intensity for highlighting an object. The MEGAMAN^® CFL GU10 complementing with the snap-in aluminium reflector, being ideal for ceiling fixtures and recessed downlights, is a perfect and inexpensive solution to highlight areas for either a specific task or for producing accentuated effect.
