Sybarite designs reflection dome for MEGAMAN^® at EuroShop 2011

Leading energy-saving lighting solutions manufacturer, MEGAMAN^® has enlisted the architects Sybarite to design a unique trade stand for the company's first appearance at Euroshop. A dramatic focal point to Hall 11 that will capture the eyes and imaginations of passers-by, the stand centrepiece is an 8m diameter reflective dome suspended over the stand, highlighting the MEGAMAN^®'s state-of-the-art reflector technology.

“It is always a joy to receive a specific brief and be allowed to think BIG!”, said Torquil McIntosh, Director for Sybarite. “The focus for the MEGAMAN^®'s stand was to ensure it effectively highlighted the company's groundbreaking reflective technology. We were given the stand dimensions and creative licence. With ‘reflection’ very much front-of-mind and lighting all about optical enhancement, we designed a reflective dome from mirror formica, creating maximum light reflection and a bold visual statement.”

The stand design incorporates the signature curves and creative use of light that Sybarite employs through many of its projects. “This is our first appearance at EuroShop and we wanted to make a lasting impression to all who come to see us,” commented Fred Bass, Managing director of Neonlite International Ltd, the brand owner of MEGAMAN^®. “Sybarite has worked on a number of striking projects in retail architecture and we're delighted with the concept and delivery of the stand.”

Reflector technology
Providing a true eco-replacement lighting solution for traditional halogen and incandescent applications is the driving force behind MEGAMAN^®'s product development. Unlike many LED lamp manufacturers, MEGAMAN^® uses reflectors instead of lens technology to offer the most efficient LED lighting solution. The LED reflector lamps mimic the design of traditional light sources, delivering excellent distribution of light and providing 80% energy saving compared with conventional lamps of the same output.

A reflector can spread a predefined portion of illumination from a light source to deliver the designed light distribution, reducing light spillage for a more precise beam. Reflective technology lamps also have high optical efficiency - up to 98% - delivering minimal energy loss and cost efficiencies.

Using Thermal Conductive Highway^TM Technology (TCH), the MEGAMAN^® patented LED lamp technology results in longer-lasting lamps with high lumen maintenance, resulting in up to 90% of initial lumens being available at the end of the lamp life.
