MEGAMAN^® Revamps the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH) with 33W LED T8 Tubes

(Singapore – 27 May 2013) MEGAMAN^® is pleased to support an extensive makeover for the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH), sponsored by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) and the Singapore Contractors Association Limited (SCAL). The SAVH is a national voluntary welfare organisation that helps the visually impaired help themselves by acquiring new skills and gaining self-reliance to cope with the integration into society.

Currently, the 46-year-old SAVH building has more than 3,300 visually impaired individuals to work in. MEGAMAN^® is helping with the repair works by providing our high performance and energy-efficient 33W LED T8 tubes for the visually impaired individuals with much brighter lights in their home and center. Designed to replace fluorescent T8 tubes, the MEGAMAN^® LED T8 offers an incredible lighting performance that greatly reduces electricity and maintenance costs. It also has high compatibility to the magnetic ballast with the traditional linear T8 tube, making re-installation easy. With the long lamp life up to 40,000 hours and wide range of operating temperature, it is ideal of various applications.

The three-day renovation in May also involves a change of the plasterboard, carpets and ceiling boards. The visually impaired individuals who visit the building have had to live with rats breaking into their food store, termite-infested walls, carpets and really old compact fluorescent tubes for the past few years.
