MEGAMAN^® Supports Earth Hour’s Campaign

(Hong Kong – 20 Feb 2014) MEGAMAN^®, a socially-responsible corporate in eco-friendly LED lighting, is pleased to further its support to WWF-Hong Kong’s worldwide movement, Earth Hour. To support this meaningful initiative, MEGAMAN^® is committed to donating HK$10 to WWF-Hong Kong at every purchase of LED light bulbs at MEGAMAN^® Concept Stores in Hong Kong. The more the customers purchase and use LED light bulbs, the more we can contribute to a low-carbon environment and tackle the problems of global warming.

As a green innovator of LED lighting, MEGAMAN^® works closely with industry partners and communities to ensure the benefits of MEGAMAN^® LED lights could get across to the decision-makers and end-users. The collaboration with WWF-Hong Kong not only reinforces MEGAMAN^®’s commitment to low-carbon LED innovation and manufacturing, but also its substantial support to the organisation’s vision to transform Hong Kong into Asia’s most sustainable city where nature is conserved, carbon pollution is reduced, and consumption is environmentally responsible.

LED lighting is an advanced and modern alternative to replace traditional halogen or incandescent lights which consume excess energy and generate excessive heat. Large shopping malls and their back offices or subsidiaries nowadays are increasingly switching to use this low-energy option to meet their own energy saving objectives. Not only does LED lights achieve an 80% saving of energy, but the reduced heat dissipation also takes less burden on air-conditioning, thus reducing the overall energy bills of the premises significantly.

In addition to monetary donations, MEGAMAN^® will also support WWF-Hong Kong’s Earth Hour on 29 March 2014 for the fifth time. Non-essential lights at MEGAMAN^® Concept stores in Hong Kong will be switched off for an hour during the Earth Hour.
