MEGAMAN^® LED Classic Lamps Make for Great Early Christmas Presents at K11’s “SUPERNOVA X'MAS – LUMINASTIC” Christmas Activities

(Hong Kong – 17 Nov 2015)  This winter, MEGAMAN^® the world’s leading LED lighting innovator collaborated with K11, Hong Kong’s first and only art mall, for its festive event titled “SUPERNOVA X’MAS – LUMINASTIC” held from 13 November to 3 January.

Addressing both MEGAMAN^®’s and K11’s common goal to promote the use of energy saving LED lighting, the SUPERNOVA X'MAS event featured the first-of-its-kind carbon-neutral installations, which were supported and audited by the event partner, Carbon Care Asia. It was also the first official Christmas lighting activity recognised by UNESCO’s International Year of Light 2015.

The Christmas lighting installations consisted of art creations from several international artists, including LED artist Teddy Lo; Japan’s teamLab which creates Hong Kong’s largest 4D interactive Christmas tree; and China’s WangYuYang.

MEGAMAN^® gave away LED Classic lamps at the event, together with a message card from K11 aiming to encouraging the public to use energy-efficient LED lighting. They were given the opportunity to take advantage of the LEDs long lamp life (25,000 hours) which is 25 times longer than traditional halogen lamps, and energy savings of up to 85%.

The launch ceremony was held on 12 November and MEGAMAN^®’s Ms Sharon Pang, Brand Consultant of Neonlite Electronic & Lighting (HK) Ltd was invited to be the officiating guest on stage. “We are very excited to be part of K11’s SUPERNOVA X'MAS event. It is an innovative and unique activity blending art and lighting installations, an interactive 4D Christmas tree and carbon neutrality best practices. Most importantly, this event actively promotes the use of LED light bulbs to replace traditional lamps, which is in line with our sustainability strategy.” Sharon said.
