RoHS Compliant Megaman Lamps

To complete the migration to RoHS compliant production, Megaman has also adopted lead-free glass lamps and mercury levels of less than 3mg. The RoHS directive states that as from 1st July 2006 new electrical and electronic equipment must not contain lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) or polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE). The law will also apply to household lamps and light fittings.

Megaman started substantial investments in product re-design, production facilities and testing equipment to ensure RoHS compliance early in 2004 and produced the world's first RoHS lamp in April 2005. Since then, continuous improvements have been made to advance the eco-friendly attributes of Megaman products. Megaman UK's Managing Director, John Murphy commented "It is our mission to provide innovative and quality lighting solutions to our customers whilst keeping our products environmentally friendly. By adopting lead-free glass tubes we are aiming to create the world's most eco-friendly energy savings lamps".

The whole Megaman range of lamps have been RoHS compliant as from 1st January 2006.
